this is the first in a mega art deco post. why? coz its sick. this is devon house #729 hay st mall, from 1937, by W Leighton one of the states leading art deco practitioners. its an early skscrpaer, and at a small scale, so the proportioning is strangely disconcerting. its big and small at the same time(!). it is an excercise in fenestration patterns versus the solid verticals and horizontals. really nice art deco freize around the top, and the trio of verticla banding. awesome! and available for rent!
