This is a covered sports area at Fremantle primary by Armstrong and Parkin in 2006. It is a wonderful little structure, very interesting in its imagery, composition and materials. Aesthetically it resembles a classic Osborne Park type warehouse, with ground floor red brick, and tin top section wrapped over the top. Also recalls Simon Andersons mothers house. It is great how it twists and fits into the small area, and the roof scape folds and soars off in areas. The detailing is very basic/industrial and is a great example of how fantastic architecture can be created on a very tight budget.
