Control Tower

This is a control tower at the international terminal, they are also at the domestic. THey are designed by Forbes and Fitzhardinge, Not sure precisely the dates, but mid 70s to early 80s. Slip formed concrete construction, and just a lovely form. Such a bold  structure.

Forbes and Fitzhardinge Offices

This is the Forbes and Fitzhardinge office space, completed in march 1983, Designed mainly by Lance Jones I believe. It was an existing warehouse converted to architects offices. Great open trusses all the way through the top storey, and my favourite, a  bagged white brickwork stair tower. The south is all glazed, which gives ideal studio light, and a view of parliament house, central clerestory also provides more light. Essentially open plan, with a basement bar which opens onto a courtyard area. Early signs of Meier influence, white, bridges and those handrails. Delightful.
