STUDIO OF IWANOFF

This is the Maxwell house designed by Iwan Iwanoff in 1967.  Very interesting house, and has a few points of departure from his other more well known concrete block houses. The blocks are rough edged, and are surprisingly uniform throughout the design, at least the front and side facades visible from the road. Predominantly 2 variants of block are used, when in other more complex houses (Marsala etc) many many different blocks are used.

City Beach Iwanoff

This is the Roberts House by Iwan Iwanoff place, in City Beach, Yanagin Cres. 1967. Beautiful use of blockwork as usual. The house is situated  high on a hill, overlooking the ocean.

Cottesloe Iwanoff

These are a duplex in Cottesloe designed by Iwan Iwanoff, for the Glencsers’s in 1981.  Magnificent texturing, shaping, detailing and imagery. It fits perfectly  in the context, and has a wonderful and understated street presence. It really is amazing.
