Lisle and Leaweena Lodges

PC130528PC130529PC130531PC130537PC130538PC130541PC130543PC130526These are the Lisle and Leaweena Lodges in Mt Claremont designed in 1978 by Julius Elischer. They are aged person units in a village type arrangement. The village is full of twists and turns, different views and vistas are around each corner, and the use of retaining walls allows for fantastic changes in level throughout the development. Very mediterranean in the imagery and use of materials.

RIP Rogers house

October 13, 2008 · 2 Comments

So as I return to Perth, I hear news of the great Rogers house by Julius Elischer is being knocked down( thanks to Dan at Grain of Salt blog-see link at right for a better, in depth article). Well what a way to return, a great piece of architecture being bulldozed. Well at least it allowed me to get a look in, it really is spectacular. The views would be hard to beat. So anyway, RIP Rogers house 1981-2008. Shame.
