This is the City Beach Kiosk/Toilet block designed by Forbes and Fitzhardinge in 1970. Fantastic modern expressionist concrete structure, perfectly nesteled in the dune setting. The paint job is unfortunate, and the top pics are what it was like originally, but still a delightful place. The concrete was formed using Corrugated iron, and the imprints of the sheeting, and various dents etc can be seen, giving it character.

  1. I took out the camera to take this for worst, but didn’t take it. Wasn’t sure if I liked or not.

  2. Without the dodgy paint job and the queue of wheely bins that would be a fancy cludgie.
