these are just some shots around pinjarra, from top, very nice art deco shop front, with the central eruption, courtesy of fine vertical central element, and colliding horizontal pinstripes. the stepped front gable also builds up the central eruption. another art deco shop front with a colour scheme remeniscent of the era, sorta like the cygnet. quite lovely. then the post office by gtpoole, ok, but notable for the typeface. then magnificent pillars to the st. johns church additions done on the 30s by WG Bennet(of regal theatre fame) absolutely beutiful. done in the phallic art deco styling, similiar to the tivoli in south perth, and the highgate vent stack, beautifully detailed at a small scale. worth just to remind new architects that even a simple fence in hte middle of nowhere matters, and you can do it brilliantly. highlight of my trip. the church then follows. just a beautiful simple church.
