This church is astounding.  It is massive, monumental in size and stature, and so difficult to gain a whole picture of.  Fluid surfaces, rising up out of the hill. Soaring ceilings, with the clerestory lights allowing brilliant sunshine to cascade and wash the top of the walls with light.  Breathtaking.  Designed by Graeme Paynter with Forbes and Fitzhardinge, 1973, and it received the Clay Brick award in 1974. Very reminiscent of Kenzo Tange’s National Gymnasium from 64.
