Immaculate Conception

This here punters, is our lady of immaculate conception church in East Freo. It is one of the nicest churches i know. It was done in 1940, i have no idea who did it unfortunately. Its a really killer art deco building, with some excellent details. My favourite is the entry portico. Intense two tone blue, with soft curved lines, creating an almost soft looking entry way. Really beautiful, soft and flowing. Then the strong vertical elements sit staunch on top, and the vertical windows are wonderful. Other details of note include the bricked in crosses between windows, the side door, the approach stairway handrail, and the surrounding low brick wall. The whole place reads so beautifully as a whole. Especially as this is complete, when a lot of other art deco places seem all facade and shed… Magnificent.
