p3030306p3030304p3030317p3030315p3030312p3030320This is the Fremantle Passenger terminal, 1961/2 designed by Hobbs Winning and Leighton. Part of the Commonwealth Games infrastructure. It is a bit of a shed, but it is still a great building and nice to visit. You have to time your visits with visitng ships though to get in. This was from a few weeks ago when some gargantuan monster was in town.  Very simple construction with massive portals left exposed in many places to great effect. The interior is really large, but it is surprisingly well kept and in tact. There are 2 exellent artworks by Howard Talor in the walls. The fittings throughout are superb. It is on the permanent heritage register.
