ANZ bank computer centre

This is the ANZ bank Computer Centre, designed by Forbes and Fitzhardinge in 1978/9. This is an amazingly heavy building, and particularly fortress like, which is appropriate for the program within. It consists of a beige split-ribbed block base with minimal penetrations, and a cream rendered brick or concrete top, with narrow slit windows that split the volume in two. This top part is very sculptural and bold in its form, not sure what generated the strange form. Great
