This is the cygnet theatre in South perth/como by..you guessed it  Leighton. Much the same as all other art deco cinemas, particularly the windsor, but again, pushes the game just that bit further. Great nautical stylistic cues, especially great given the location, Wonderfully outrageous period colour scheme, Signage is bang on target, and the pressed tin ceilings are just sublime.  Changed a little over time, but still astounding. The flowerpots out the front also impressed me, for the vision put forth by the architect to see it all through. Streamlined flowerpots! Also! the balconies around the edge that seem useless, are for the olden days when the film cannisters were hauled up to the projection room! FACT! -thanks Ian Molyneaux
