This is the Hawkins and Sands; (project architect Peter Parkinson) blood bank in the city, on wellington street. It has been severely messed around, but it used to be a wondeful and progressive building, complete with blood red windows, and green plasma coloured interior. Blood red windows in a blood bank, amazing. Also, I believe one of, if not the first, true curtain walled structures in the city, and for that matter Australia, being finished in 1961/62. The rhythm achieved with the fenestration is amazing.
